Plastics

Plastic materials are versatile, durable and offer excellent chemical resistance, making them ideal for precision components and engineering applications.

Available Alloys

POM/Delrin®
POM, also known as Delrin®, is a strong and form-stable, low-friction plastic.

PTFE
PTFE is a chemically resistant plastic with low friction and high heat resistance.

PEEK
PEEK is a high-performance plastic with exceptional strength, heat resistance and chemical resistance, widely used in medicine, aerospace and automotive industries.

Areas of application

Plastic materials are used in engineering applications such as gears, seals, bearings and insulators, as well as in demanding environments such as medical technology, automotive and aerospace. Their combination of light weight, high performance and chemical resistance makes them a first choice for many industries.

History

Plastics began to develop in the 19th century with the invention of materials such as parkesin and bakelite. In the 20th century, development took off with the introduction of synthetic materials such as PTFE and POM, revolutionizing everything from consumer products to advanced technology and medicine.

Fun fact

PTFE, also known as Teflon™, is so non-slip that it is widely used in pans and is one of the most chemically resistant materials in existence, even against strong acids and alkalis.
